Screen Moray was set up to help support the presence of film and TV productions in the area. Ultimately it will be a resource for production companies looking to film in the area by locations, facilities and crew.
It is a partnership between Moray Local CIC and Openbrolly.
Moray Local CIC provides news and information portals such as Forres Local, Moray Events and Visit Forres, while Openbrolly, also based in Moray, provides software services to the film and TV industry across the UK.
Openbrolly are the creators of the leading post- and pre-production services package, MovieSite, which helps film offices manage their entire data input, handling and processing for productions large and small. This is the same software being used by Screen Moray, Screen Highland and Aberdeenshire Film, bringing a cohesive collaborative potential across the whole of the north and north-east. It also means that in the future, listings on Screen Moray can also be accessed, permission pending, by neighbouring film offices and vice versa.
Screen Moray also works alongside Moray Council Film Liaison Service, acting as the commercial and domestic service to complement that provided by the council to manage its own assets for filmmaking purposes.
We are a social enterprise, a community interest company limited by guarantee. There are no shareholders, and all the money it generates goes back into the company to improve its service to the community. We also act as a liaison between production companies and local businesses and consumers.
Moray Local CIC won the Best Digital Community award in 2023 for its work in Forres.
